Telecom Network Administrator

About the Role

Our client is seeking a meticulous and proactive Telecom Network Administrator to manage and maintain their network infrastructure in Vereeniging . You will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance, reliability, and security of our client's voice and data networks. This role requires hands‑on experience with network hardware, software, and protocols. The ideal candidate is adept at monitoring network health, diagnosing issues, and implementing solutions to keep critical communication systems operational within the telecoms industry .

• Install, configure, and maintain network hardware, including routers, switches, firewalls, and servers.
• Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues, ensuring high availability of services.
• Implement and manage network security measures, including access controls and intrusion detection systems.
• Perform regular backups and disaster recovery operations for network systems.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and network access rights.
• Document network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps for telecommunications systems.

• Associate's degree or equivalent experience in IT, Computer Networking, or a related field.
• 2-4 years of experience in network administration, with a focus on telecommunications networks.
• Proficiency with network operating systems and protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
• Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, or similar network equipment.
• Familiarity with VoIP technologies and network monitoring tools.
