About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Blockchain Network Administrator to manage and maintain their growing blockchain infrastructure in Klerksdorp . In this role, you will be responsible for the deployment, configuration, operation, and security of blockchain nodes and networks. Your expertise will ensure the stability, reliability, and performance of the underlying blockchain technology that powers their innovative applications. This position requires a blend of system administration skills and a solid understanding of blockchain principles.
You will work within a dedicated IT team to support critical infrastructure and contribute to the operational excellence of their decentralized systems.
- Deploy, configure, and maintain blockchain nodes and validator infrastructure.
- Monitor network performance, uptime, and resource utilization, implementing proactive measures to ensure stability.
- Implement and manage security protocols to protect the blockchain network from threats.
- Perform regular system updates, patches, and upgrades for blockchain software and related components.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network and node-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Manage user access and permissions for network resources.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in network administration, system administration, or Dev Ops.
- Demonstrated understanding of blockchain technology, consensus mechanisms, and node operation.
- Experience with Linux/Unix operating systems and shell scripting.
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
