Senior Database Administrator; DBA)

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Database Administrator (DBA) to manage and maintain their critical database infrastructure in Nelspruit . You will be responsible for ensuring the performance, integrity, and security of our databases, as well as implementing backup and recovery strategies. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of various database technologies, strong troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to providing reliable and efficient database services that support the organization's operational needs.

This role is essential for maintaining the backbone of our data operations.

• Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain database systems (e.g., SQL Server , Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL).
• Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations for speed and efficiency.
• Implement and manage robust backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions.
• Ensure the security and integrity of databases, implementing access controls and auditing measures.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in a timely manner, minimizing downtime.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of experience as a Database Administrator.
• Proven experience with database administration tools and techniques for relational databases.
• Strong knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL, and database scripting.
• Experience with performance tuning, high availability, and disaster recovery solutions.
