About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Telecom Infrastructure Technician to join their dedicated team, with a focus on supporting operations around Vereeniging and the broader Gauteng region. This role is designed for individuals who excel in managing and maintaining the physical and logical infrastructure that underpins our client's telecommunications services. While the role offers remote management capabilities and support, it will require occasional on-site work to ensure the optimal functioning of network equipment and systems.
You will be instrumental in ensuring the reliability and performance of our communication networks, contributing to seamless service delivery.
- Install, configure, and maintain telecommunications hardware, including cabling, servers, and network devices.
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on infrastructure components.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to network connectivity and service delivery.
- Monitor system performance and capacity, implementing upgrades as needed.
- Respond to service requests and provide technical support to users and field teams.
- Document network infrastructure, configurations, and maintenance activities accurately.
- National Diploma or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, IT, or Telecommunications.
- 2-3 years of experience in telecom infrastructure support or a related technical field.
- Familiarity with structured cabling, fiber optics, and various network hardware.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting common network and system issues.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively, with occasional travel required.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
