Senior Information Security Analyst

Our client seeks a proactive and experienced Senior Information Security Analyst to join their dedicated team in Klerksdorp . In this vital role, you will be responsible for the detection, analysis, and response to security threats, as well as the continuous improvement of security monitoring capabilities. You will work closely with various IT teams to ensure the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of the organization's information assets.

• Perform advanced analysis of security alerts, logs, and network traffic to identify sophisticated threats.
• Lead incident response activities, coordinating efforts and ensuring timely resolution of security incidents.
• Develop and optimize security detection rules and analytics within SIEM and other monitoring platforms.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and work with system owners to ensure timely remediation.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of security policies, standards, and best practices.
• Mentor junior security analysts and share knowledge across the team.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 5-7 years of experience in information security, with a strong focus on threat intelligence, incident response, and security operations.
• Expertise in using SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) and other security monitoring technologies.
• In-depth understanding of network protocols, operating systems, and common attack vectors.
• Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and communication skills.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, GIAC, or equivalent are preferred.
