About the Role
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Telecoms Network Administrator to manage and maintain their vital network infrastructure in Nelspruit . This role is essential for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of all network systems, supporting critical business functions and customer services. You will be responsible for network configuration, monitoring, security, and troubleshooting to guarantee high availability and performance.
This hands-on position is ideal for an IT professional with a strong foundation in network administration within the dynamic Mpumalanga business environment.
- Install, configure, and maintain network hardware and software, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Monitor network performance, identify potential issues, and implement proactive solutions to prevent downtime.
- Manage network security, including user access controls, intrusion detection systems, and regular security audits.
- Perform regular backups and disaster recovery planning to ensure data integrity and business continuity.
- Troubleshoot network connectivity and performance problems, providing timely resolution.
- Document network configurations, procedures, and changes accurately.
- National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 2-4 years of experience in network administration, with a focus on telecoms or IT infrastructure.
- Proficiency with network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and network device configuration.
- Experience with network security principles and best practices.
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools and diagnostic utilities.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and excellent attention to detail, with knowledge of the Nelspruit area.
