DevOps Engineer; Cloud Automation

Our client is a leading financial services provider headquartered in Tembisa, Gauteng , and they are looking for a talented Dev Ops Engineer to spearhead their cloud infrastructure and automation initiatives. This is a critical role where you will be responsible for building, deploying, and maintaining scalable, reliable, and secure cloud-based systems. You will work closely with development and operations teams to streamline the software development lifecycle, implement CI/CD pipelines, and automate infrastructure provisioning and management.

• Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment processes.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or Cloud Formation.
• Manage and optimize cloud environments on platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Implement robust monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions for all systems.
• Automate system provisioning, configuration management, and operational tasks.
• Ensure the security and compliance of cloud infrastructure and applications.
• Collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot and resolve production issues.
• Participate in on-call rotation to provide 24/7 support for critical systems.
• Continuously improve system performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Stay abreast of new Dev Ops tools and best practices.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 3+ years of experience in a Dev Ops or SRE role.
• Proven experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Power Shell.
• Hands-on experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong understanding of CI/CD principles and tools (e.g., Jenkins, Git Lab CI, CircleCI).
• Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Chef, Puppet).
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
• Knowledge of networking concepts and security best practices.
