Blockchain Data Analyst Chain Intelligence

Our client, a rapidly expanding analytics firm in the Benoni crypto space, is seeking a motivated Blockchain Data Analyst. This role is focused on extracting, analyzing, and interpreting on-chain data to generate actionable intelligence for our clients. You will work with large datasets from various blockchain networks to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies, providing critical insights into market behavior, user activity, and protocol performance.

The ideal candidate has a strong analytical mindset, proficiency in data manipulation and visualization tools, and a keen interest in the blockchain and cryptocurrency domain. This is a key position within our Gauteng operations.

Query and analyze large datasets from multiple blockchain networks using tools like SQL, Python, or specialized blockchain analytics platforms. Identify and track key on-chain metrics, including transaction volumes, wallet activity, smart contract interactions, and token flows. Develop dashboards and visualizations to present complex data in an understandable format. Conduct research on emerging trends, DeFi activities, NFT markets, and other blockchain phenomena.

Generate reports and insights for internal teams and external clients. Collaborate with engineering and research teams to define data requirements and improve data collection processes. Monitor network health and identify potential risks or opportunities based on on-chain data. Stay abreast of new developments in blockchain technology and data analysis techniques.

Proven experience as a Data Analyst, preferably with a focus on blockchain or cryptocurrency data. Strong proficiency in SQL for data querying and manipulation. Experience with data analysis and scripting languages such as Python (Pandas, Num Py) or R. Familiarity with blockchain explorers (e.g., Etherscan, Bsc Scan) and on-chain analytics tools (e.g., Nansen, Dune Analytics, Glassnode). Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to visualize data effectively using tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Matplotlib/Seaborn. Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex findings clearly. Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Economics, Finance, or a related field. A genuine passion for blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies.
