Senior Insurance Actuary

Our client seeks a highly accomplished and technically proficient Senior Insurance Actuary to join their core team in Benoni . This critical role involves applying advanced mathematical and statistical methods to assess financial risks, price insurance products, and manage capital effectively. You will play a key role in strategic decision-making, providing insights into pricing, reserving, and solvency. • Develop, implement, and maintain actuarial models for pricing, reserving, and financial projections.
• Analyze financial data to assess the profitability and risk of insurance products and portfolios.
• Ensure compliance with statutory reporting requirements and solvency regulations.
• Provide expert actuarial advice to support strategic business decisions and product development.
• Collaborate with underwriting, claims, and finance teams to provide data-driven insights.
• Mentor and guide junior actuaries and analysts within the department.

• Fellowship or near-fellowship status with a recognized actuarial society (e.g., Actuarial Society of South Africa).
• Substantial experience (e.g., 5+ years) in insurance actuarial work, with a strong understanding of life or non-life insurance principles.
• Advanced proficiency in actuarial modeling software and statistical analysis tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
