Assistant Technical Manager

Overview

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistant Technical Manager to join their team in Kempton Park, Gauteng. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Technical Manager in overseeing the technical operations of the fruits junior department. This includes ensuring compliance with quality standards, managing equipment maintenance, and providing technical support to the production team.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Assist the Technical Manager in overseeing the technical operations of the fruits junior department.
2. Ensure compliance with quality standards and regulations.
3. Manage equipment maintenance and repairs to minimize downtime.
4. Provide technical support to the production team and troubleshoot any issues that may arise.
5. Assist in developing and implementing improvement initiatives to optimize production processes.
6. Monitor and analyze key performance indicators to identify areas for improvement.
7. Ensure adherence to health and safety protocols in the department.
8. Train and mentor junior staff to enhance their technical skills and knowledge.
9. Assist in budgeting and procurement of technical resources.
10. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to technical operations.

Requirements:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
2. Proven experience in a technical role, preferably in the food processing industry.
3. Strong understanding of quality standards and regulations.
4. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and technical software.
8. Knowledge of health and safety protocols.
9. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
10. Willingness to work flexible hours as needed.
