ESTIMATOR

Our client is looking for an experienced Operations Estimator to be based in the Johannesburg office. The candidate must have a proven track record within the Clearing & Forwarding industry

• Quoting and costing
• Compiling sea freight and airfreight import and export estimates for international agents and South African clients.
• Ensure that estimate request turnaround times are as efficient as possible.
• Ensure that the rates supplied by agents and service providers are market related and wherever possible are preferential.
• Attend to all queries arising from the estimates received and provided and rates received from service providers.

• Ensure follow up on all estimates provided to agents and clients.
• Negotiate rates with all service providers in the freight and logistics industry.
• Meet with suppliers on a regular basis to discuss and negotiate rates.
• Build relationships with service providers and international agents.
• Interaction with operations staff on estimates provided, rates acquired and market trends.
• Assisting sales representatives in their efforts for securing new business.

• Identify new trade routes and any new service offerings, thereafter interacting with those entities.
• Securing new business according to company expectation.
• Control and generate estimate strike rate reports.
• Maintaining Rate files / Client rates and Pricing Master Files on the System.

• Matric / Grade 12
• Relevant tertiary qualification will be viewed favourably

Remuneration
R 20 000 to R 30 000 CTC
