This role is responsible for ensuring that all sourcing strategies are successfully executed at the BU level. That includes co-ordination of the required projects; e.g. Inventory optimization;
Procurement digitization, etc.
Ensure strategies are informed through data and analytics and oversight and execution of the required Procurement Processes i.e. RFP and Tenders
Key Activities
- Category management (Medium and straight forward commodities/services)
- Strategic Sourcing - Develop an internal category profile defining Total Cost of Ownership, procurement processes, spend profiles and associated risks
- Develop an industry and supplier profiles, including understanding the industry dynamics, potential suppliers and industry and supplier financials
- Contract Management - manage contract negotiations, contract drafting and on-going performance management resulting from the contract
- Monitor and manage category procurement compliance
- Proactively manage ad-hoc issues from end users (e.g. distribution, finance, production, compliance)
- Savings – EBITDA and FCF impact
- Category / commodity performance indicators
- Risk indicators inclusive of Group Third Party Due Diligence
- Supplier performance
- BBBEE - Preferential procurement, Enterprise and Supplier Development
- Net Working Capital – Payment Terms
- Diploma in Procurement/Supply Chain Management, Commerce or Engineering, active CIPS Membership
- Category Management, Strategic Sourcing, Procure to pay process, General manufacturing process understanding; manufacturing exposure
- 5 years; manufacturing; heavy industry, FMCG experience
