Dispatch Clerk - Temp

Wolseley Berries is seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Dispatch Clerk (Temp) to join our cold chain operations team. This role is critical in ensuring accurate and timely dispatch of products while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee daily dispatch operations
• Ensure accurate preparation and fulfilment of all orders
• Verify receipt and dispatch of raw materials and finished products
• Capture dispatch data accurately and align records with system data (Device Magic)
• Coordinate loading of trucks and containers in line with operational standards
• Ensure all dispatches are completed on time and according to schedule
• Monitor stock accuracy, ensuring system and physical quantities align
• Oversee safe and proper use of dispatch equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks)
• Maintain compliance with health and safety standards
• Liaise with cold room, packhouse, and logistics teams to ensure seamless workflow
• Escalate discrepancies, delays, or stock issues promptly

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 / Senior Certificate
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a cold-chain, packhouse, or high-pressure environment
• Proven experience in dispatch coordination and logistics operations
• Strong data capturing and administrative skills
• A relevant tertiary qualification will be advantageous

Key Skills & Competencies

Technical Skills

• Strong computer literacy, particularly MS Excel
• Knowledge of dispatch processes, logistics, and workflow coordination
• Understanding of inventory control and stock movement

• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong time management and ability to meet deadlines
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
