Head of Procurement

Are you a strategic procurement leader with experience across Africa? Our client is seeking an experienced Head of Procurement to lead and transform procurement, sourcing, supply chain, and logistics operations across multiple African subsidiaries. This executive-level role offers the opportunity to influence business performance, drive cost optimization, strengthen supplier partnerships, and ensure supply continuity across a dynamic pan-African operation.

Key Responsibilities ✅ Develop and execute group-wide procurement and sourcing strategies aligned to business objectives.
✅ Lead local and international supplier sourcing, negotiations, contract management, and strategic supplier relationships.
✅ Drive cost-saving initiatives, supplier performance management, and procurement transformation projects.
✅ Oversee purchasing operations, governance, compliance, and procurement audits.
✅ Manage inventory optimization, technical procurement, engineering spares, and MRO sourcing activities.
✅ Co-ordinate regional import and export logistics, customs processes, freight management, and cross-border trade activities.
✅ Partner with key global customers, including major multinational accounts, to ensure seamless end-to-end supply chain execution.
✅ Monitor procurement budgets, pricing strategies, supplier performance, and financial reporting metrics.
Requirements ✔ 10–15 years' progressive procurement and supply chain experience.
✔ Minimum 5 years in a senior management or executive procurement leadership role.
✔ Proven experience managing procurement portfolios across Sub-Saharan Africa.
✔ Strong commercial acumen with advanced negotiation and contract management expertise.
✔ Solid understanding of technical procurement, engineering specifications, and MRO environments.

✔ Experience with import/export operations, freight forwarding, customs regulations, and African trade frameworks.
✔ Proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Sage, or similar platforms.
✔ Relevant tertiary qualification.
