Aspen Logistics is looking for an experienced and driven Stores Supervisor to join our Workshop team in Germiston. If you have a passion for inventory management, workshop operations, and leading high-performing teams, we want to hear from you. This role is responsible for ensuring the efficient management of workshop inventory, procurement, stock control, and stores operations to support maximum fleet uptime and operational excellence.
Aboutthe Role
Reporting to the Service and Workshop Manager, you will oversee the end-to-end management of the workshop stores, including procurement, receiving, storage, issuing, stock control, inventory audits, and supplier coordination. You'll play a key role in ensuring accurate inventory management, maintaining compliance with company procedures, and supporting the workshop through the timely availability of parts and consumables.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the daily operations of the workshop stores, including receiving, issuing, storage, and stock control.
- Ensure inventory accuracy through cycle counts, stock takes, and reconciliation of variances.
- Monitor Work in Progress (WIP) inventory and ensure accurate job card allocations.
- Manage stock procurement and maintain effective supplier relationships.
- Oversee the issuing, returns, and adjustment of workshop stock and high-value items.
- Maintain workshop tool and equipment registers, including audits and calibration records.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, audit requirements, and health and safety standards.
- Supervise, coach, and develop stores personnel while driving continuous improvement.
- Produce inventory reports and identify opportunities to improve stock control and operational efficiency.
- Matric.
- Post-matric qualification in Logistics, Inventory Management, or Supply Chain will be advantageous.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a workshop stores or fleet logistics environment.
- At least 2 years' experience in a supervisory stores or inventory control role.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle components, parts procurement, and inventory management.
- Experience using inventory management systems such as Sage, Pastel, Eclipse, or similar.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong inventory management and stock control knowledge.
- Excellent leadership, planning, and organisational skills.
- High attention to detail with strong numerical accuracy.
- Ability to analyse stock trends and resolve inventory discrepancies.
- A proactive, service-oriented, and safety-focused approach.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across workshop and operational teams.
- Based in Germiston.
- Workshop and yard-based environment with regular movement between operational areas.
- Availability to work after hours, weekends, and public holidays in line with operational requirements.
- Adherence to PPE requirements and participation in safety and compliance activities.
