Location: Somerset West

My client, an established concern within the agricultural industry is seeking to employ a Logistics Coordinator.

The successful candidate must have a relevant qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain, International Trade, Commerce or a related field and 2–5 years' experience in logistics coordination, freight, commodities, trading or a related environment.

Experience with imports/exports and international freight will be advantageous.

As Logistics Coordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating the movement of commodities from origin to destination, ensuring shipments are executed efficiently, accurately and on time.

Key responsibilities include:

Coordinating local and international commodity shipments from dispatch through to delivery.
Liaising with suppliers, customers, transporters, clearing agents, freight forwarders, warehouses and other service providers.
Preparing and managing logistics and shipping documentation.
Tracking shipments and proactively resolving delays, discrepancies and operational issues.
Coordinating transport bookings and delivery schedules.
Assisting with import/export processes and ensuring documentation complies with relevant requirements.
Maintaining accurate logistics records and providing regular shipment updates.
Working closely with commercial, operations, finance and supply-chain teams.
Allocating supplier and transport invoices to correct loads.
Collecting of POD’s.
Weekly planning of loading dates and stock delivery.
Handling of client, transport and supplier related queries.
24/7 contact with all relevant parties.
Supporting the continuous improvement of logistics processes and cost efficiencies.

What We're Looking For

Relevant qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain, International Trade, Commerce or a related field.
2–5 years' experience in logistics coordination, freight, commodities, trading or a related environment.
Experience with imports/exports and international freight will be advantageous.
Strong understanding of transport, shipping and supply-chain processes.
Excellent administrative and organisational skills.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong communication and relationship-management skills.
Ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines simultaneously.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant systems.
A hands-on, solutions-focused approach with the ability to work under pressure.
