ABOUT THIS ROLE

Are you an experienced Storeman with strong materials management and stock control experience within a manufacturing environment?

Our client in Carletonville is looking for a Storeman to take responsibility for the effective management and control of stores inventory, stock records, tools, equipment and materials. The successful candidate will work closely with the Purchasing Department and ensure accurate inventory management and compliance with company quality, safety and environmental requirements.

• Control and maintain stores inventory and stock levels
• Prepare purchase requisitions to replenish inventory items
• Maintain inventory cards and computerised stock records
• Liaise with the Purchasing Department and expediting
• Control tools and keys kept within the stores
• Capture daily clay receipts
• Maintain a tidy, organised and efficient stores layout
• Obtain MSDS documentation from suppliers for hazardous materials
• Obtain waste management documentation and assist with the disposal of toxic waste
• Manage and issue diesel
• Maintain effective stock control and bin management
• Assist with import order schedules
• Adhere to company policies relating to Quality, Safety, Environmental and Security requirements
• Ensure compliance with applicable safety and environmental regulations
• Perform other reasonable duties as allocated by Management

• Grade 12 / Matric or equivalent
• Post-matric qualification in Stores or Materials Management would be advantageous
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in stores / materials management
• Minimum 5 years’ experience working on SAP or JDE
• Experience creating purchase requisitions, goods receipting and reporting
• Strong stock control and inventory management experience
• Experience managing stock levels and bin management
• Experience with import order schedules
• Valid Forklift Licence would be advantageous
• Good computer skills
• Good English reading and writing skills
• Strong organisational and attention-to-detail skills
• Ability to work within a manufacturing environment and follow quality, safety and environmental procedures
