About the Role
Our client is seeking a meticulous and proactive Procurement Specialist to join their supply chain team based in Vereeniging . This role is vital for sourcing high-quality raw materials and packaging components essential for their diverse range of FMCG products . You will be responsible for managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring cost-effective procurement practices while maintaining quality standards. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of procurement processes within the fast-paced FMCG sector in the Gauteng region.
Key Responsibilities- Identify, source, and procure raw materials, packaging, and other supplies for FMCG production.
- Negotiate favorable terms, pricing, and contracts with suppliers to achieve cost savings.
- Manage supplier relationships, evaluate performance, and ensure adherence to quality and delivery standards.
- Conduct market research to identify new suppliers and potential cost-saving opportunities.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and manage inventory levels in collaboration with the production team.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in procurement or purchasing, with a strong emphasis on the FMCG industry .
- Proven negotiation skills and a track record of achieving cost savings.
- Solid understanding of supply chain management and inventory principles.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in procurement software and MS Office Suite.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
