Buyer and Expediter

Our client is seeking a proactive Buyer and Expediter to join their operations in Vereeniging . This dynamic role focuses on ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services while actively managing supplier performance to meet critical deadlines. You will be responsible for the full procurement cycle, from identifying needs and sourcing suppliers to expediting orders and resolving delivery issues.

The ideal candidate possesses strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a keen understanding of supply chain logistics to support the company's operational tempo.

• Source and procure materials, equipment, and services at competitive prices.
• Monitor supplier lead times and proactively expedite orders to ensure timely delivery.
• Track shipments and manage logistics to prevent delays in production or project timelines.
• Liaise with suppliers to resolve discrepancies, quality issues, or delivery problems.
• Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, supplier communications, and delivery statuses.
• Collaborate with internal departments, including logistics and operations, to align procurement with demand.

• Proven experience in a purchasing , buyer , or expediting role.
• Familiarity with procurement processes and supply chain operations.
• Strong organizational skills with an emphasis on meeting deadlines and managing multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities with suppliers.
• Proficiency in relevant ERP systems and procurement software.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
