Buyer, Supply Chain​/Logistics

Our client is looking for an organized and efficient Buyer to join their procurement team in Soweto . This role is responsible for the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services necessary for the company’s operations. You will be involved in sourcing suppliers, processing purchase orders, and ensuring deliveries meet required specifications and timelines. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, possesses strong negotiation skills, and is committed to maintaining excellent supplier relationships to support the business’s ongoing success within Gauteng .

• Identify and source potential suppliers for various goods and services.
• Obtain quotes from suppliers and analyze them to ensure competitive pricing and terms.
• Process purchase requisitions and issue purchase orders accurately and promptly.
• Manage supplier communications, ensuring timely delivery and resolving any discrepancies.
• Maintain organized records of purchases, supplier agreements, and invoices.
• Collaborate with internal departments to understand their needs and ensure procurement aligns with requirements.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a buying or purchasing role.
• Familiarity with procurement processes, sourcing, and supplier negotiation.
• Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with suppliers and colleagues.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and basic knowledge of ERP systems.
• A relevant certificate or diploma in procurement or business is beneficial.
