About the Role
Our client, a leading entity in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector, is seeking a meticulous and skilled Procurement Specialist . This office-based role in Nelspruit is crucial for managing the sourcing and purchasing of raw materials, packaging, and other essential supplies. You will play a key role in ensuring the cost-effective acquisition of high-quality goods, optimizing inventory, and maintaining strong supplier relationships to support our client's production and operational needs.
The ideal candidate possesses strong negotiation skills, a keen eye for detail, and a solid understanding of procurement best practices within the FMCG supply chain.
- Source, negotiate, and procure raw materials, packaging, and other supplies in alignment with quality standards and cost objectives.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, ensuring reliable supply chains and favorable contract terms.
- Analyze market trends and supplier performance to identify cost-saving opportunities and mitigate risks.
- Manage inventory levels of procured goods, ensuring adequate stock to meet production demands while minimizing holding costs.
- Collaborate with R&D, production, and logistics teams to understand material requirements and ensure timely delivery.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements in procurement activities.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement or purchasing , preferably within the FMCG industry.
- Proven experience in supplier negotiation, contract management, and cost analysis.
- Strong understanding of FMCG supply chain dynamics and material requirements.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems.
