Logistics Planner - Supply Chain Network

Our client, a leading national distributor, is seeking a dedicated and analytical Logistics Planner to join their team in Benoni, Gauteng . This role is critical in optimizing the flow of goods across our extensive supply chain network. You will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing transportation and distribution activities to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of products. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of logistics principles, and the ability to manage complex scheduling challenges.

• Develop and optimize daily, weekly, and monthly transportation and delivery plans.
• Coordinate with carriers and logistics providers to ensure on-time pickups and deliveries.
• Monitor shipment progress and proactively address any potential delays or issues.
• Analyze transportation costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
• Manage the allocation of resources, including fleet capacity and driver schedules.
• Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations and company policies.
• Maintain accurate records of all logistical activities and prepare performance reports.
• Collaborate with warehouse operations and sales teams to align logistics plans with business needs.
• Identify and implement process improvements within the logistics planning function.
• Serve as a key point of contact for external logistics partners.

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in logistics planning, transportation management, or supply chain coordination.
• Proven experience in developing and executing transportation plans.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
• Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Understanding of transportation modes, carrier management, and route optimization techniques.
• Knowledge of relevant regulations governing road transport.
• Experience in the Benoni area is a plus.
