- Oversee the technical performance and compliance of the inland fleet, including maintenance planning and execution.
- Work closely with regional transport managers to provide technical input onvehicle availability, downtime, and workshop operations.
- Plan, monitor, and manage the inland fleet in alignment with forward-looking business forecasts.
- Manage fleet maintenance schedules, workshop operations, service level agreements, and asset care plans for inland depots.
- Assist with the technical evaluation of vehicles, repairs, refurbishments, and parts procurement.
- Analyse operational and budgetary data to optimise fleet costs and performance.
- Ensure adherence to OEM and regulatory standards and proactively drive improvements in maintenance and safety procedures.
- Support the implementation and usage of fleet management systems to ensure accurate tracking of vehicle performance and costs.
- Review vehicle lifecycle data and total cost of ownership.
- Lead tyre and inventory control processes in conjunction with workshop supervisors and procurement teams.
- Monitor technical compliance with regulatory and safety standards.
- Conduct regular technical audits, inspections, and performance reviews across workshops in the inland region.
- Ensure timely completion of licensing, COF, insurance claims, and other statutory compliance requirements.
- Contribute to cost control initiatives by identifying savings on repairs, parts, and technical efficiencies.
- Travel to neighbouring provinces when necessary to support the operations.
- Provide support after hours in the event of any technical issues.

- Technical certifications or trade qualification (highly advantageous)
- Hands‑on experience managing workshop operations and heavy vehicle maintenance
- Strong working knowledge of fleet management systems and technical compliance standards
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and reporting skills
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a technical fleet or maintenance management role within logistics, transport, or related industries
- Sound understanding of vehicle diagnostics, OEM specifications, and lifecycle management
