Supervisor Mechanical (Screening and Staging). The purpose of this role is to supervise mechanical maintenance activities and ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of equipment to support operational requirements within the Screening and Staging section..

Our activities include all aspects – exploration; mining; processing and blending; shipping; marketing and selling. In South Africa, we have mining operations in the Northern Cape province, as well as a head office in Rosebank, Gauteng, and a port operation in Saldanha Bay, Western Cape.

As Supervisor Mechanical (Screening and Staging) your responsibilities will include but not limited to:

• Promote and maintain a zero-harm safety culture.
• Apply safety, health, and environmental standards in all work activities.

• Execute approved maintenance plans to ensure equipment reliability and plant availability.
• Supervise preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities.
• Ensure maintenance work is completed safely, efficiently, and to required quality standards.
• Monitor equipment condition and identify opportunities to improve reliability and asset performance.
• Support breakdown investigations and implement sustainable corrective actions.
• Minimise equipment downtime through effective maintenance execution and problem-solving.

• Manage maintenance contractors to ensure safe and effective work execution.
• Monitor contractor performance against agreed service levels and KPIs.
• Identify and address contractor performance gaps and implement corrective actions.
• Provide input into contractor utilisation and in sourcing/outsourcing decisions.
• Respond effectively to unplanned maintenance events and resource requirements.

• Develop and execute weekly maintenance schedules aligned with operational and engineering requirements.
• Coordinate with production, planning, reliability, and engineering teams to optimise equipment availability.
• Identify maintenance risks and proactively implement contingency plans.
• Participate in maintenance shutdown planning and execution activities.
• Monitor work management compliance and ensure adherence to approved schedules.

• Ensure structured and effective shift handovers between supervisors and maintenance teams.
• Communicate critical equipment status, breakdowns, safety risks, outstanding work, and operational priorities.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and administrative documentation.

• Ensure adequate availability of maintenance resources, tools, equipment, materials, and spares.
• Monitor labour utilisation and maintenance resource allocation.
• Support maintenance performance reporting and supervisory scorecard requirements.
• Maintain accurate maintenance and personnel records.

• Monitor maintenance KPIs including equipment availability, reliability, downtime, and schedule compliance.
• Identify improvement opportunities to enhance asset performance and maintenance effectiveness.
• Support reliability improvement initiatives and root cause analysis processes.
• Drive continuous improvement and waste reduction initiatives within the maintenance environment.

• Conduct inspections to verify maintenance work quality and compliance with engineering standards.
• Perform Planned Task Observations (PTOs) and enforce corrective actions where required.
• Ensure maintenance work meets required specifications, procedures, and quality requirements.
