Kendrick Recruitment is seeking an experienced, hands-on Maintenance Manager for a beautiful 5-star safari lodge in Madikwe. This is a practical leadership role for someone who is technically strong, highly organised and confident managing a maintenance team. The successful candidate will take full ownership of the lodge’s maintenance department, ensuring that the property, staff areas, grounds, equipment and infrastructure are maintained to an exceptional standard.

Salary: R20,000 – R25,000 per month, depending on experience

Leave Cycle: 36 days on / 12 days off

• Lead; manage and develop a team of approximately 8 maintenance staff
• Oversee day-to-day and preventative maintenance throughout the lodge
• Maintain electrical, plumbing, air-conditioning, geysers, pumps, pools, decking and general infrastructure
• Monitor and maintain solar, water and related lodge systems
• Manage tools, spares, stock levels and monthly stock takes
• Ensure maintenance work is completed efficiently and with minimal disruption to guests
• Maintain health & safety, fire-prevention and emergency procedures
• Coordinate vehicle maintenance and external contractors where required
• Respond to emergency and after-hours maintenance when necessary
• Work closely with lodge management and other departments

• Minimum 3 years' maintenance management experience, ideally within a lodge, hotel or hospitality environment
• Proven experience managing and motivating a maintenance team
• Strong practical knowledge of electrical, plumbing and general building maintenance
• Experience with air-conditioning, pumps, pools, water systems and solar systems advantageous
• Good understanding of preventative maintenance and workplace health & safety
• Strong organisational, problem-solving and stock-control skills
• Confident; positive leadership style with the ability to delegate and hold staff accountable
• Basic computer and administrative skills
• Valid driver's licence
• Hands-on; proactive and solution-focused approach
