Truck Yard Maintenance

To assist with the day-to-day maintenance of trucks and trailers at the truck yard, ensuring vehicles and equipment are maintained in good working condition through minor repairs, servicing and preventative maintenance.

• Perform minor mechanical repairs on trucks and trailers.

• Assist with trailer servicing and general maintenance.

• Conduct preventative maintenance and tyre inspections.

• Identify mechanical issues and assist with breakdowns.

• Ensure vehicles and equipment are maintained in a safe and operational condition.

• Assist with general maintenance duties within the truck yard.

• Ensure maintenance tasks are completed timeously and efficiently.

• At least 2 years of relevant mechanical or maintenance experience.

• Basic to intermediate mechanical knowledge.

• Experience working at a truck dealership, trucking company or similar environment would be advantageous.

• Knowledge of trailer maintenance, tyre care and minor repairs.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Monday to Saturday, 08:00–17:00.

• Flexibility may be required to accommodate vehicle breakdowns and outstanding maintenance work.

• Basic Salary up to R17 000

The ideal candidate will be mechanically minded, practical and hands-on, with experience in a trucking or dealership environment. A mature, reliable individual who takes pride in maintaining vehicles and equipment would be well suited to this position.
