About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Logistics Operations Manager to lead their dynamic team in Soweto . This role is responsible for the seamless execution of all logistics and warehousing functions, ensuring efficient inventory management, order fulfillment, and transportation. You will drive operational excellence, implement best practices, and manage a dedicated team to achieve key performance indicators. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, a comprehensive understanding of supply chain operations, and a proven ability to optimize processes in a fast-paced environment.
This is a critical role in maintaining and enhancing our client's service delivery capabilities.
- Oversee daily logistics and warehouse operations, ensuring adherence to efficiency and quality standards.
- Manage inventory control, including receiving, put-away, picking, packing, and shipping processes.
- Lead, train, and develop a team of logistics and warehouse staff, promoting a culture of safety and productivity.
- Optimize transportation logistics, coordinating with carriers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive operational improvements.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Proven experience as a Logistics Operations Manager or in a similar senior logistics role.
- Strong understanding of warehousing, inventory management, and transportation principles.
- Excellent leadership, team management, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and other logistics software.
- Ability to develop and implement operational strategies for continuous improvement.
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
