About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and results-driven Operations Manager to lead their FMCG distribution centre in Klerksdorp . This critical role involves overseeing all day-to-day operations, including warehousing, inventory management, logistics, and staff supervision, to ensure efficient and timely delivery of products. You will be responsible for implementing operational strategies, driving process improvements, and maintaining high standards of safety and productivity.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in logistics and operations management within the fast-paced FMCG environment of the North West province.
- Manage and optimize all warehouse and distribution operations to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Oversee inventory control, order fulfillment, and dispatch processes to meet customer demands.
- Lead, train, and motivate a team of warehouse and logistics staff.
- Implement and enforce health and safety regulations within the distribution centre.
- Develop and manage operational budgets, identifying opportunities for cost reduction.
- Collaborate with procurement and sales teams to align operational plans with business objectives.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations management, specifically within FMCG distribution or logistics.
- Proven track record of improving operational efficiency and reducing costs.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- In-depth knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control best practices.
- Excellent understanding of logistics, supply chain, and relevant regulations.
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
