Mine Maintenance Manager - Heavy Equipment

About the Role

Our client is looking for a highly experienced and results-oriented Mine Maintenance Manager to lead their heavy equipment maintenance division in Nelspruit . This role is vital for ensuring the optimal performance, reliability, and safety of the extensive fleet of mining machinery. You will be responsible for developing and implementing robust maintenance strategies, managing a team of technicians, and controlling maintenance budgets.

This is a key leadership position within the operations in the Mpumalanga province, offering the opportunity to significantly influence fleet availability and operational efficiency through effective maintenance practices.

• Develop, implement, and oversee preventative and corrective maintenance programs for all heavy mining equipment.
• Manage and lead a team of maintenance supervisors, technicians, and support staff.
• Control and manage the maintenance budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and resource allocation.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations related to maintenance activities.
• Optimize maintenance schedules and inventory management to minimize downtime and maximize equipment availability.
• Implement new technologies and best practices to enhance maintenance efficiency and effectiveness.

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance , with at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role within the mining sector.
• Proven track record in developing and implementing effective maintenance strategies.
• Strong knowledge of diagnostic tools, CMMS software, and fleet management principles.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in managing maintenance budgets and parts inventory.
