Packhouse Manager
Our client in the Agriculture Industry is seeking a Packhouse Manager to join their team.
Job Location: Kirkwood
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement strategic packhouse operational plans
Achieve Packhouse goals and objectives through agreed key performance indicators
Lead and motivate staff to meet packhouse goals and objectives
Co-ordination and execution of the packing program as planned and prioritised by the Marketing department
Ensure compliance with quality and market specifications of product being packed
Manage staff effectively and ensure ongoing compliance with company policies
Ensure compliance with quality, food safety and sanitation requirements
Manage costs within the packhouse against the budget
Identify, lead, and implement continuous improvement initiatives
Ensure compliance with quality, safety and environmental requirements
Key Requirements:
A relevant tertiary qualification within production, operations or engineering disciplines
Computer literate – MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
10 years’ experience within a production environment (preferably in the citrus industry), of which 5 years should be in a management role
Strong communication skills
Good working knowledge of quality, environmental and safety management systems [BRC, HACCP, ISO, SIZA and Global GAP accreditations]
