Qualified Boilermaker – Heavy-Duty Trucking​/Logistics

A trucking/Logistics company is seeking a Qualified Boilermaker to carry out fabrication, welding, and structural repairs on heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and related transport equipment. The role supports fleet reliability, safety compliance, and operational uptime within a busy logistics or trucking workshop.

Key Responsibilities Fabrication & Structural Repairs

• Fabricate, repair, and modify truck bodies, trailers, chassis, and frames

• Perform structural welding on heavy-duty vehicles and equipment

• Repair load bodies, tipper bodies, tankers, flatbeds, and trailer components

• Strengthen, reinforce, and align chassis and structural components

• Carry out cutting, bending, shaping, and fitting of steel components

Welding & Technical Work

• Perform welding using MIG, TIG, ARC, and CO? processes

• Read and interpret technical drawings and fabrication plans

• Ensure welds meet quality, safety, and durability standards

• Inspect completed work for structural integrity and compliance

Workshop & Safety Support

• Work closely with mechanics and workshop foreman on vehicle repairs

• Maintain tools, welding equipment, and work areas

• Follow health, safety, and environmental regulations

• Assist with breakdown repairs and urgent fleet requirements

Minimum Requirements

• Qualified Boilermaker Trade Certificate (Red Seal preferred)

• Proven experience in heavy-duty trucking, logistics, or transport workshops

• Strong fabrication and structural welding skills

• Ability to work independently and under pressure

• Physically fit and safety-conscious

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Experience with trailer manufacturing or repair

• Knowledge of transport industry compliance standards

• Oxy-acetylene cutting and heating experience

• Code 10 or EC driver’s licence (advantage)
