Our client, a well‑established Sawmill and timber manufacturing business within the forestry and agricultural sector, is seeking an experienced Sawmill Manager to oversee the full operational performance of their Sawmill.

Minimum requirements:

• BTech / National Diploma in Wood Technology (advantageous) or Engineering Qualification (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Production or similar) or Industrial Process / Production Management qualification
• 6 Years’ experience within a production or manufacturing environment
• 4 Years’ management experience
• Strong technical knowledge (Mechanical and Electrical equipment)
• Candidates with strong Engineering backgrounds (Mechanical / Electrical / Industrial / Production Engineering) and relevant production management experience will also be considered.
• Good knowledge of SANS standards (Structural Board Grading advantageous)
• Sound understanding of the OHS Act and statutory compliance
• Experience with production planning, plant operations and continuous improvement
• MS Office proficiency
• Valid drivers license plus own reliable vehicle
