Manufacturing Engineer, Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
About this role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Storeman to join our Stores Department. The role supports the day‑to‑day operation of the stores with receiving, issuing, and controlling stock, tooling, and calibrated equipment in accordance with company procedures and aviation industry requirements.

- Issue and receive counter stock, consumables, components, tools, and test equipment over the counter in accordance with industry and company policies and procedures.
- Receive and store incoming goods being delivered according to company and industry approved processes and procedures.
- Assist with the packing of components and spares to ship.
- Allocate tooling with serial numbers as directed.
- Monitor calibrated test/tools equipment for expire dates.
- Capturing data and ensuring dates and expiring of tooling/parts are enforced.
- Ensure that tooling/ calibrating items are meticulously monitored.
- Follow up on vendors when required.
- Capturing of stores data into systems via computer and computer systems.
- Build fly away kits.
- Assist in obtaining quotations for spares and tooling.
- Make copies of calibration certificates and attach them to the applicable tooling/ test equipment.
- File the relevant paperwork or documentation for traceability and archiving, according to policies and procedures.
- Assist with writing out delivery notes and sending expired items to various vendors for calibration, repair, or recertification.
- Report stock shortages for re‑ordering and broken tooling for replacement according to policies and procedures.
- Update SAM after stock has been issued, collected, received, or dispatched according to policies and procedures.
- Willingness to work rostered shifts, including weekends, public holidays, and extended hours as operationally required
- Attend required training
- Perform additional reasonable duties to support departmental efficiency
- Grade 12 / Matric (or equivalent)
- Previous experience in a stores or logistics environment (aviation environment advantageous)
- Basic computer literacy and experience with inventory systems
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet operational deadlines
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Experience in an aviation maintenance or AMO environment
- Familiarity with tooling control and calibration processes
