General Assistant

Job Description

We are looking for a General Assistant to provide essential support to production, quality, and housekeeping activities to ensure smooth and safe operations within the Paint Department. This role involves assisting operators, handling materials, maintaining cleanliness, and following strict safety and quality standards.

• Grade 12
• A valid forklift license will be advantageous.
• Basic linguistic proficiency.
• Able to read, write and communicate in English.
• Prepared to work shifts based on a system shift cycle.
• Take staggered tea and lunch breaks and be willing to work overtime.
• Working knowledge of health & safety regulations will be an advantage.

The following key performance areas are covered by the posistion:

• To load or and offload products on the lines ensuring the achievement of the production throughput rate and the visual identification of non-conforming products thereby contributing to the fulfillment of customer orders and customer satisfaction
• Monitor and check production processes to ensure they are within acceptable standards.
• Monitor and check quality and ensure non conformances are reported timeously.
• Monitor and move raw materials, profiles and finished product.
• Stacks products in accordance with layout plan
• Moves full / empty containers to required locations as per instruction.
• Records production, downtime and wastage
• Ensures conformance to housekeeping, health and safety standards.
• Required to work shifts and overtime.
• Assist with general warehouse or and production duties.
• Safe storage of materials.
• Routine safety inspections and reporting of unsafe acts and conditions
• Report maintenance requirements in designated area.
• Assisting other departments when needed.
• Maintaining of safety and housekeeping as specified.
• Pulling or picking of material.
• Strapping material.
• Sweeping and housekeeping.
