Injection Moulding Machine Setter

Our Client is seeking an Injection Moulding Machine Setter to coordinate and manage injection moulding production processes, ensuring products meet quality standards, production targets, and customer requirements. Empowered to halt production if quality standards are not met.

• Level 4 Plastic Federation Injection Machine Setting Certificate (NQF
  6) – required
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in injection moulding machine setting and process optimisation.
• Supervisory experience in shift operations within a plastics manufacturing environment.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to train and guide personnel.
• Ability to plan, prioritise, and direct resources effectively per shift requirements.
• Attention to detail, assertiveness, and resilience under pressure.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

• Set up and operate injection moulding machines and ancillary equipment.
• Maximise machine and personnel efficiency to ensure on-time delivery of quality products.
• Monitor and achieve production targets, including scrap %, cycle times, and KPIs.
• Ensure compliance with company Quality Management System (QMS) and Environmental Management System (EMS).
• Promote quality improvement and performance enhancement across the production team.
• Supervise and coordinate production staff, providing guidance and training where necessary.
• Maintain work instructions, inspection sheets, packaging, and transport details.
• Review non-conforming products with the Quality Department and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain excellent housekeeping and a safe working environment.
• Stand in for other machine setters when required and assist with overtime or after-hours production.
• Liaise with department managers, warehouse personnel, and operators to ensure smooth operations.
