Factory Manager / Biolermaker job vacancy in Wellington.

Our client in the Winelands is seeking an experienced and hands‑on Factory Manager with a qualified Welder/Boilermaker background to oversee daily manufacturing operations in the Winelands region.

The successful candidate will combine strong technical fabrication skills with proven leadership and production management experience. Responsibilities typically include welding and fabrication oversight, maintenance planning, quality control, production scheduling, staff supervision, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.

• Manage day-to-day factory operations and production activities
• Lead and supervise workshop and production staff
• Oversee welding, fabrication, installation, and maintenance projects
• Ensure production targets, quality standards, and delivery deadlines are met
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
• Coordinate preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs
• Implement and enforce health, safety, and quality procedures
• Manage stock, materials, and workshop equipment
• Drive continuous improvement in productivity and efficiency
• Liaise with customers, suppliers, and management as required

• Qualified Trade‑Tested Welder / Boilermaker
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, or engineering environment
• Proven experience managing a factory, workshop, or production team
• Strong knowledge of welding processes, fabrication, and maintenance
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Excellent leadership, planning, and problem‑solving skills
• Computer literate
• Valid driver’s licence
• Reside in or be willing to relocate to the Boland area
