Job Description About Our Client

Our client is a food manufacturing operation based in Malmesbury where fresh production quality, hygiene, output and people management are key operational priorities. The environment requires strong hands‑on supervision and the ability to keep production running safely and efficiently.

Role Overview

The Fresh Production Supervisor will oversee fresh product manufacturing processes, staff performance, process control, output targets and compliance standards. The role is suited to someone with strong floor leadership who understands food manufacturing, production pressure and daily operational discipline.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise fresh production processes including mince, skinpack, MAP and value-added product lines.
  • Oversee trim inspection, grinding, mixing, packing, wrapping and labelling activities.
  • Drive achievement of daily production output, quality, hygiene and downtime targets.
  • Monitor production processes and ensure staff follow approved procedures and specifications.
  • Manage staff attendance, timekeeping, discipline, performance, daily duties and training needs.
  • Ensure acceptable hygiene, correct PPE use, clean‑as‑you‑go standards and product safety practices.
  • Identify production deviations, resolve operational issues and escate risks where required.
  • Support continuous improvement in waste reduction, process control and team productivity.
  • Maintain compliance with SHEQ, occupational health and safety and company procedures.
  • Communicate production updates, shift issues and performance concerns to management.
Requirements
  • Grade 12 is required.
  • Production or supervisory training would be advantageous.
  • Food, FMCG or meat manufacturing production experience is required.
  • Fresh product production experience will be advantageous.
  • Strong supervisory, planning and operational decision-making ability is essential.
  • Must be able to manage staff and maintain production discipline on the floor.
  • Must be willing to work shifts, weekends and public holidays when required.
  • Must be able to commute reliably to Malmesbury or relocate at own cost.
  • Background checks may include criminal, qualification and reference checks in line with POPIA.
