CMT Team Leader

A dynamic retail design and manufacturing business based in Pinetown, Kwa Zulu-Natal, specialising in high-volume production within the non-apparel textile sector.

This is a permanent, full-time position for a Cut, Make, and Trim (CMT) Team Leader. Operating on a rotational two-week schedule between day and night shifts, you will supervise all daily production activities. You will act as the vital link between management and factory floor employees to ensure production targets, quality standards, and machine efficiencies are consistently achieved.

• Set up production lines according to product specifications, monitor hourly outputs, address line bottlenecks, and adjust workflows to meet strict deadlines.
• Conduct initial and random quality inspections, verify product dimensions against approved standards, and manage the isolation and reporting of reject defects.
• Manage floor attendance, ensure prompt return from breaks, oversee biometric clocking, maintain discipline, and lead daily toolbox talks.
• Conduct pre- and post-shift machine inspections, verify settings on flatbed and ultrasonic machinery, and report breakdowns immediately.
• Maintain strict housekeeping standards across the production floor and yard, and manage Injury on Duty (IOD) processes according to company safety protocols.

• Grade 12 (Matric)
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a CMT team leadership or supervisory role.
• Practical, hands‑on experience operating a flatbed manufacturing sewing machine.
• Strong understanding of high-volume production processes, quality compliance, and machine operations.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills; the ability to speak isiZulu is a distinct advantage.
• Willingness to work a rotational two-week shift (Day Shift: 06:30 to 17:00 / Night Shift: 17:30 to 06:00), requiring arrival 15 minutes before the shift starts.

R8 000 - R10 000 CTC per month, depending on skillset and experience.
