Zinc and Painting Operator
Join our dedicated team at Epiroc's Rock Drilling Tools Division in Springs, South Africa, as a Zinc and Painting Operator. This onsite role is integral to our production processes within the manufacturing support department, contributing directly to the quality and durability of tools used in mining and infrastructure industries worldwide.
Mission of the roleAs a Zinc Coating Operator, your mission is to apply zinc coatings meticulously to critical components, ensuring they meet rigorous engineering standards. Your work protects equipment from corrosion, enhancing product reliability under demanding conditions. Your craftsmanship plays a key role in maintaining Epiroc's industry reputation for excellence and delivering long-term value to customers across the globe.
Your mission- Perform zinc coating operations with precision and attention to detail, adhering to stipulated safety and quality guidelines.
- Operate the Roto Blast machine effectively for surface preparation tasks.
- Conduct painting of taper bits, ensuring uniform application and finish quality.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of paint and zinc coating booths, including all related equipment, to uphold operational standards and safety compliance.
- Assist in the assembly of bits and other related production tasks as required, demonstrating flexibility and teamwork.
- Support additional duties within the production environment as assigned, contributing to overall department efficiency.
- Minimum educational attainment of Grade 12 / Standard 10.
- Solid understanding and application of industrial safety standards relevant to painting and coating environments.
- Knowledge and practical use of the 5S methodology (TRACC), ensuring workplace organization and continuous improvement.
- Medically fit to perform work in environments with dust and paint exposure.
- Previous experience in a similar industrial or manufacturing environment is advantageous.
- Willingness and availability to work prescribed shifts and overtime as operational demands require.
