Upholstery Line Manager

Key responsibilities

• Directly manage all department staff including production workers, supervisors, and service hands — assigning tasks in line with production plans and monitoring performance.
• Execute daily and weekly production plans to meet output, quality, and delivery requirements, ensuring efficient use of labour and equipment.
• Ensure production lines are correctly manned and balanced, including adjustments for absenteeism as guided by the time study department.
• Address production variances and disruptions — including shortages, damages, rejects, and technical issues — with corrective action within 24 hours.
• Enforce housekeeping, OHS compliance, PPE usage, and waste separation standards across the department at all times.
• Monitor in-process and final output quality in close collaboration with the QA team to reduce offline rejections and damages.
• Ensure adherence to technical drawings, specifications, and all labelling requirements including Trendi and customer-specific labels.
• Provide hourly output feedback to the Planning Department and accurately report daily production data including efficiency, downtime, and absenteeism.

• Proven experience in a line management or supervisory role within an upholstery or furniture manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of upholstery manufacturing processes, quality standards, and production planning.
• Experience managing and developing production teams in a high-volume environment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and product specifications.
• Good written and verbal communication skills for reporting and cross-functional coordination.
