Semi-Skilled Turner

Our client in the engineering sector based in Meyerton is seeking a hands-on Turner with solid experience operating horizontal lathes
. The ideal candidate does not need to be a qualified artisan —
semi-skilled candidates are welcome
, provided they have strong practical machining ability and can work independently. Candidates must reside in or near Meyerton due to the nature of the role and daily operational requirements.

• Lathe Operation — Operate horizontal lathes for turning, facing, boring, and machining components
• Machining Accuracy — Produce components to required tolerances and specifications
• Drawing Interpretation — Read and interpret basic engineering drawings
• Tooling & Setup — Set up machines, tooling, and work pieces correctly
• Quality Checks — Perform quality checks on completed components
• Maintenance — Conduct basic machine maintenance and ensure safe operation
• Workshop Support — Assist with general workshop tasks when required

• Experience as Turner — Practical experience operating horizontal lathes
• Semi-skilled Accepted — Qualification not required; semi-skilled candidates welcome
• Residence Requirement — Must reside in or close to Meyerton
• Hands-on Ability — Must be able to work independently and produce quality work
• Reliability — Reliable, punctual, and able to meet daily production requirements
