PRODUCTION ENGINEER (COMPOSITE & FIBERGLASS MANUFACTURING)

ABOUT THE ROLE

An industry-leading, global manufacturer of specialized lighting solutions is seeking a skilled and proactive Production Engineer to oversee and optimize the manufacturing processes for fiberglass poles.

Forming a vital part of the Operations Department at the Head Office facility, you will be responsible for driving process efficiency, maintaining strict quality standards, minimizing operational waste, and implementing advanced manufacturing technologies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Production & Process Optimization

• Design, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes for fiberglass pole production lines.

• Apply Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to eliminate waste, remove process bottlenecks, and boost productivity.

• Manage production schedules to guarantee on-time project and product delivery.

• Analyze production data and maintain accurate process documentation, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and quality check protocols.

2. Quality Assurance & Compliance

• Maintain and enhance overall product and process quality across manufacturing lines.

• Investigate process deviations, lead root-cause analysis (RCA) activities, and execute corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

• Ensure strict adherence to environmental, safety, and health standards during all production activities.

• Partner closely with Maintenance and Quality Control teams to ensure consistent product standards.

3. Equipment & Maintenance Support

• Collaborate with the maintenance team to maximize machine performance and minimize unscheduled downtime.

• Assist with new equipment installation, machine calibration, and technical upgrades.

• Ensure all production machinery complies with relevant safety and quality regulations.

4. Data, Performance & Continuous Improvement

• Track and report on core production metrics, including OEE, NQC, Efficiency, Waste, and Downtime trends.

• Compile detailed process documentation, cost analyses, and operational performance reports.

Lead cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement projects and industrialize new product designs.

• Train and mentor factory floor operators on new manufacturing technologies and standard operating procedures.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Production, or Chemical Engineering.

Experience: 3+ years of hands-on process/production engineering experience in a manufacturing environment (experience with composites or fiberglass is strongly preferred).

Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of resin systems, curing cycles, and composite material behavior.

Systems & Tools: Proficient in CAD software, ERP/MRP production planning systems, and process automation tools.

Methodologies: Solid grounding in Lean Manufacturing, process control, and continuous improvement frameworks.

Compliance: Working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OSHA standards is highly advantageous.
