POST HARVEST INTERN

Fruitways is an agri-business that specialises in the growing, packing and marketing of apples and pears to retailers, traders and wholesalers around the globe.

We have an exciting career opportunity for a Graduate within our Agri-Services business unit in the Grabouw area. We are looking for an eager, passionate and ambitious individual with a willingness to learn and grow within the industry. The opportunity is a fixed-term contract from Sep 2026 – Nov 2027.

• Harvesting of fruit trials
• Doing evaluations in the orchard and post-harvest evaluation of fruit trials in the packhouse or lab
• Scheduling evaluations
• Checking data for accuracy and data entry
• Basic graphic representation of results and report writing.
• Getting equipment ready for trials:
  Cleaning lugs and keeping equipment and the lab in good condition for fruit evaluations.

• Agricultural qualification – Horticultural, Crop production or related field.
• Have an interest in fruit and basic knowledge of fruit handling.
• Hard-working, reliable, and eager to learn.
• Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft office
• Be physically fit and able to lift cartons and lugs of fruit as needed.
• Be good at organizing: recording trials and keeping track of them so that the correct evaluations are done.
