About the Role
Our client seeks a meticulous and skilled Mechanical Fitter & Turner to join their established engineering workshop in Klerksdorp. This position is vital for manufacturing, assembling, and repairing precision mechanical components and machinery. You will work with a variety of metals and materials, utilizing advanced machining techniques and tools to produce high-quality parts that meet exact specifications. Key Responsibilities- Set up and operate machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, and drills to produce precision metal parts.
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine machining operations and tolerances.
- Fit and assemble components and machinery, ensuring precise alignment and functionality.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on existing machinery, diagnosing issues and fabricating replacement parts as needed.
- Measure and inspect finished work pieces to verify accuracy against specifications using precision measuring instruments.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace and ensure all machinery is well-maintained.
- Qualified Mechanical Fitter & Turner with recognized trade qualifications.
- Minimum of 6 years' experience in a similar role, demonstrating proficiency in machining operations.
- Expertise in operating and maintaining various machine tools, including CNC machines.
- Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings and blueprints accurately.
- Strong understanding of metallurgy and material properties.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
