About Role

Are you an experienced Workshop Manager with a strong technical background in precision engineering and CNC machining
?

Our client is urgently looking for a Precision Engineering Workshop Manager to take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of their workshop, ensuring production targets, quality standards, client requirements and deadlines are consistently achieved.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of a precision engineering workshop

  • Oversee CNC machining and programming activities

  • Plan and manage production schedules and job priorities

  • Ensure jobs are completed on time and to specification

  • Monitor quality control and quality assurance processes

  • Interpret and work from detailed engineering drawings

  • Liaise with clients regarding specifications, progress, deadlines and requirements

  • Lead, manage and motivate workshop staff

  • Identify and resolve technical and production-related problems

  • Ensure compliance with engineering, safety and industry standards

  • Monitor workshop performance, productivity and turnaround times

Minimum Requirements:
  • Extensive experience in precision engineering / CNC machining

  • Strong CNC programming and machining experience

  • Proven workshop and production management experience

  • Experience managing production schedules and strict deadlines

  • Strong understanding of quality control and quality assurance

  • Ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings

  • Experience in client liaison and relationship management

  • Strong technical and problem-solving abilities

  • Proven team leadership and people-management experience

  • Good knowledge of engineering compliance, safety and industry standards

  • Excellent organisational and communication skills

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure

The Ideal Candidate:

We are looking for a hands-on, technically strong and results-driven manager who understands CNC and precision engineering from the ground up and can confidently take ownership of workshop operations.
