About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and hands‑on Plant Manager to oversee their manufacturing facility in Vereeniging. This critical leadership role involves managing all aspects of plant operations, ensuring safety, quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing management, a deep understanding of production processes, and a commitment to continuous improvement. You will be instrumental in driving the plant's performance and contributing to the company's overall success in Gauteng.
Key Responsibilities- Direct and manage all plant operations, including production, maintenance, quality control, and safety.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize production efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.
- Manage the plant budget, including capital expenditure planning and operational cost control.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the plant workforce, fostering a culture of accountability and high performance.
- Oversee supply chain and logistics to ensure timely delivery of raw materials and finished goods.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field; a Master's degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in plant or manufacturing management.
- Proven experience in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Strong knowledge of production processes, quality standards, and safety protocols.
- Excellent leadership, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
- Proficiency in manufacturing execution systems (MES) and ERP software.
