About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Production Manager to lead their manufacturing operations in Klerksdorp. You will be responsible for overseeing the entire production process, ensuring efficiency, quality, and adherence to safety standards, while managing a large team of factory personnel. This critical role requires strong leadership capabilities, a deep understanding of manufacturing principles, and a proven ability to optimize production output and control costs within the demanding FMCG environment.
Your focus will be on driving operational excellence, implementing lean manufacturing techniques, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement to meet growing market demand.
- Direct and manage all aspects of the production process to ensure efficient and timely manufacturing of FMCG products.
- Develop and implement production schedules, ensuring optimal utilization of resources and machinery.
- Supervise, train, and motivate production staff, promoting a safe and productive work environment.
- Monitor production performance against key metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
- Ensure strict adherence to quality control standards, health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Collaborate with supply chain, engineering, and maintenance teams to ensure smooth operations and minimize downtime.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field; relevant certifications are a plus.
- Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in production management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within the FMCG industry.
- Proven ability to manage large-scale production lines and achieve production targets consistently.
- Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and process optimization techniques.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
- Experience with production planning software and ERP systems.
