Computer Numerical Control Programmer

Role Description The Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Programmer is a full-time, on-site role based in Pinetown. This role is responsible for creating, modifying, and optimizing CNC programs to support machining and milling operations used in the production of printing and packaging components. Day-to-day tasks include interpreting technical drawings, setting up machining parameters, testing and adjusting CNC programs, and collaborating with machine operators to ensure accurate and efficient production.

The CNC Programmer will monitor machine performance, troubleshoot programming or tooling issues, and implement improvements to enhance quality and, throughput on a combination of 11 CNC mill and lathe machines.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong CNC Programming and Programming skills for developing and optimizing machine instructions.
• Candidates should possess Machining and Milling skills to support accurate setup, operation, and troubleshooting of CNC equipment.
• Candidates should possess Technical Drawing interpretation skills to translate specifications into precise CNC programs.
• Candidates should possess solid understanding of manufacturing processes, tooling selection, and material properties.
• Candidates should possess good problem-solving abilities and attention to detail in a production environment.
• Candidates should possess effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with operators and supervisors.
• Candidates should possess prior experience as a CNC Programmer or in a similar machining role; experience in printing or packaging manufacturing is an advantage.
• Candidates should possess relevant technical certification or diploma in mechanical engineering, manufacturing, or a related field.
