Our Client is looking for an experienced Mill Manager to lead and optimise a sawmill operation.

• Grade 12 / Matric

• BTech / National Diploma Wood Technology / BSc Wood Science or equivalent

• 8-10 years' experience in a sawmill/manufacturing production environment

• Minimum 5 years' senior management/supervisory experience

• Proven Wet Mill & Dry Mill knowledge/experience

• Strong knowledge of saw milling processes, log breakdown, recovery & production optimisation

• Strong people-management and leadership skills

• Mechanical & electrical knowledge of sawmill machinery

• Experience with
  planned/preventative maintenance

• Strong financial, cost-management and analytical skills

• Knowledge of OHS Act, SANS/SABS quality standards advantageous

• Advanced MS Office skills

• Valid Driver's Licence

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the complete sawmill operation from log intake to finished product

• Drive production, recovery, quality, efficiency and cost targets

• Optimise log breakdown and maximise recovery/yield

• Manage budgets, cost per m³ and operational performance

• Drive preventative maintenance and minimise downtime

• Lead, develop and motivate management and operational teams

• Ensure OHS, environmental and quality compliance

• Drive continuous improvement and plant optimisation
