- Perform precision turning, milling, drilling, grinding, and fabrication of mechanical components
- Manufacture or refurbish parts where OEM spares are unavailable or lead times are excessive
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, tolerances, and technical specifications accurately
- Perform basic welding and fabrication work (cutting, grinding, shaping, repairs, modifications, improvements)
- Maintain workshop tools, machines, and housekeeping to high standards
- Conduct routine checks on workshop equipment, tool cupboards, and tool control systems
- Overhaul, rebuild, and refurbish pumps, gearboxes, motors, conveyors, and rotating equipment
- Mechanical seals, bearings and coupling fitment and removal
- Perform equipment alignment, and condition monitoring
- Assist with breakdown response, fault-finding, and corrective maintenance
- Execute preventative and planned maintenance tasks as per schedule
- Support shutdown activities and plant improvement projects
- Conduct QC inspections on incoming repaired items, refurbished components, and new spares
- Generate workshop reports, job feedback, and maintenance documentation
- Complete check sheets and job cards accurately and timeously
- Assist and contribute to Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations and corrective actions
- Create and update work instructions and standard repair procedures
- Maintain high attention to detail and workmanship standards
- Link closely with Stores and Maintenance Planning regarding spare parts requirements
- Assist with material management of workshop steels, plates, and salvageable materials
- Identify and prepare materials required for machining and fabrication jobs
- Supporting other artisans and maintenance team members as required
- Contribute proactively to continuous improvement and reliability initiatives
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, SOPs, and housekeeping requirements
- Hold standby duties & attend to callouts and work overtime as required
